What are Orthotics and what conditions can they help?
Custom Foot Orthotics are biomechanical medical appliances designed to align the foot & ankle into the most anatomically efficient position for your gait and posture. They look like insoles but are custom made to correct the specific foot imbalance of each foot of each individual person. They re-align the foot by redirecting and reducing certain incorrect motions while walking or running.
Correctly realigning the foot and ankle can alleviate suffering from bunions, hammer toes, plantar fasciitis, high arches, fallen arches (flat feet), arch/heel pain, foot, leg, ankle, knee, hip, back or neck pain.
How are Orthotics made?
Custom Foot Orthotics can be made individually and uniquely for your work, sports, dress shoes and winter boots.
Our practitioner will take a mold or impression of your feet, which is sent to the laboratory that custom creates each of your personal orthotics to your unique requirements, based on accurate 3-dimensional measurements from the mold.
Will my Insurance Provider cover the costs?
Most insurance companies do cover the cost of custom foot orthotics, and may require a referral letter from a medical doctor stating why custom foot orthotics are required; please contact your provider to find out if such a referral is required. If you have any questions at all, feel free to call us.
Also, we can prepare the paperwork to direct bill your insurance provider.
