Reflexology is safe and effective for people of all ages. Improving health, and bringing relief for many different conditions and symptoms.
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology stimulates reflex points on the hands and feet that relate to every part, organ and gland of the body.
Ancient medical texts state that optimum health is dependent on the whole body being in a state of harmony and balance, reflexology will help to bring about this balance.
Any tenderness in the reflex points will indicate that the corresponding gland, organ or part of the body may not be functioning properly.
The points may have a crunchy or granular feel which is caused by crystalline deposits.
This can signify areas of the body that are congested and without proper circulation.
Reflexology practitioners use their fingers and hands to apply pressure to these reflex points. This can break down toxic deposits, release tension and encourage full blood circulation to the corresponding glands, organs and areas of the body
What to Expect During a Reflexology Session
Treatments can be booked for 45minutes or one hour. The practitioner will check in with you regarding your history and current health. They will discuss your expectations and the treatment they recommend.
During the session you either recline or lie down on a comfortable massage table. You will need to remove footwear, socks and roll up any long pants as the treatment also includes the ankles and lower legs.
The setting is relaxing with soft music and lowered lights. You may be covered with a light blanket to bring a warm, cozy feel.
How Often Are Treatments?
Initially treatments may be recommended weekly. Once you are feeling better the frequency reduces.
Treatments three weeks or one month apart are suggested for prevention of disease and ill-health, and for maintenance of health.
For children, elderly or in the case of severe ill-health the pressure used and length of treatments is decreased, while the frequency of treatment is increased.
