What Is P-DTR Therapy?

Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex Therapy is a system that identifies and treats dysfunctional muscles, sensory nerve pathways and receptors.

How Does It Work?

Proprioception was identified as early as the mid 1800s, however, Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex Therapy was pioneered by the Clinical Neurologist, Dr. Jose Palomar during the early part of this Century.

P-DTR Therapy employs Applied Kinesiology (AK) or Muscle Response Testing to identify poorly functioning muscles, related neural pathways and skin nerve receptors. By identifying and treating the dysfunctional neural pathways and receptors P-DTR restores balance to the muscles, nervous system and the rest of the body.

What Can I Expect During Appointments?

The first appointment is 60 minutes long. During this visit, your practitioner will take a thorough medical history and carry out a physical examination, including muscle testing.

An explanation of findings and treatment will follow.

Follow-up visits are 30 minutes and will comprise a muscle testing exam followed by treatment.

How Many Visits Will I Need?

The number of visits is dependent on individual symptoms. On average, you should expect to come 6-8 times, however some people choose to come for more treatments. Treatments are usually provided weekly. You should see some lessening of your symptoms after the 3rd or 4th treatment and improvements will continue each time you attend.
