Hypnosis is an efficient and practical way to achieve your life's goals. Using a natural state of directed relaxation, hypnosis enables you to achieve the changes that you only imagined were possible.
Sometimes willpower alone is not enough to make and maintain long-term changes; hypnosis can supplement, empower and supercharge your ability to reach your goals.
Simply put, hypnosis helps you create a state of mind that allows you access to internal strengths and resources. It enables you to break old patterns and create new, healthy habits, to develop new attitudes and enhance the quality of your life.
An abundance of research shows outstanding results for the use of hypnosis in pain management, surgical recovery, smoking cessation, weight loss, exam anxiety and many other areas of life.
It is widely used by professional, college and high school athletes seeking peak performance.
Hypnosis can help end fears and phobias and is used to promote a sense of calm. While the complete list of reasons to use hypnosis is too long to include here, it is clear that hypnosis can be used to help clients with a wide range of issues.
Just imagine how your life would change if you: stopped smoking, were finally able to lose the weight that is limiting you, overcame your fear or phobia, or stopped living with pain and finally experienced comfort?
What if we could help reduce your resistance to change or increase your own motivation to reach your goals? Maybe there are other goals that you would like to achieve and need some help? In hypnosis, you do not even need to state the specifics of the problem to achieve the desired result.
Laura Thomas is there to work with you in a way that is comfortable for you while focusing on new ways to help you to achieve the success you desire. She can also teach you how to access new internal resources anytime you want!
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a trance state of mind that occurs naturally. It allows access to the deeper, unconscious parts of the mind. We have all experienced it, whether we knew it or not.
The time you were so absorbed in the TV that someone had to call you 3 times before you heard them – you were probably in a trance. And the time you were so caught up in your thoughts you drove past your street.
Am I in Control During a Hypnosis Session?
Contrary to what you might have seen on TV, Hypnosis is not a state where someone has complete control over you or your actions. You are always in control of the situation on one level and aware of your surroundings.
What to Expect When you Come for Hypnosis
To get the best results, and for hypnosis to be most effective, it is important that you know how hypnosis works, what to expect and the benefits you can be achieved. Therefore, prior to your first hypnosis session we encourage you to watch this short video:
The Truth About Hypnosis in which Calvin Banyan, MA, BCH, CI, explains how hypnosis works, and why it is better than using human will power alone.
The following videos by Calvin Banyan are useful as they discuss the impact that our emotions have on our state of wellbeing.
Smoking Cessation or other addiction issues
When you come for your session you can ask any questions you may have, discuss your goals and how best those goals can be reached. If you are unable to watch the video before coming Laura will take a little time to explain hypnosis to you in the first session.
Hypnotic induction is achieved using subtle, fast techniques. There are no swinging watches or swirling patterns. Once you are hypnotized the hypnotist will use some tests to check you are hypnotized and provide you with objective evidence that you were hypnotized
How Many Hypnosis Sessions Will I Need?
Hypnosis is not a one session therapy. You should expect to come for between 4 and 7 sessions, sometimes a few less, sometimes a few more. To stop smoking you may only need 2 sessions.
