What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a trance state of mind that occurs naturally. It allows access to the deeper, unconscious parts of the mind. We have all experienced it, whether we knew it or not.

The time you were so absorbed in the TV that someone had to call you 3 times before you heard them – you were probably in a trance. And the time you were so caught up in your thoughts you drove past your street.

When you come for your session you can ask any questions you may have, discuss your goals and how best those goals can be reached. If you are unable to watch the video before coming Laura will take a little time to explain hypnosis to you in the first session.

Hypnotic induction is achieved using subtle, fast techniques. There are no swinging watches or swirling patterns. Once you are hypnotized the hypnotist will use some tests to check you are hypnotized and provide you with objective evidence that you were hypnotized

Hypnosis is not a one session therapy. You should expect to come for between 4 and 7 sessions, sometimes a few less, sometimes a few more. To stop smoking you may only need 2 sessions.
