Joanna Heyse believes that real, deep, permanent healing can only take place when the client actively participates in the process and is willing to make the necessary changes.
She works in partnership with her clients and empowers them to reach their health goals.
Her passion is in identifying the underlying root causes for her clients’ health concerns. By so doing she can provide them with the information they need to achieve optimal health.
Joanna Heyse also believes our pursuit of optimal health and longevity must begin with an effort toward a collective rise in consciousness. We need to start holistically thriving within Nature instead of fighting it.
With a firm belief that we all need to do our part to protect the planet and our future she donates 1% of her revenue to the charity 1% for the Planet.
Joanna Heyse' Journey
Joanna was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium. With a strong desire to help others and to make a change in the world she began a career as a humanitarian worker. For over a decade she travelled the world supporting victims of war.
Eventually the devastation and horrendous situations she was exposed to took a toll, and she ended up disillusioned and burnt out. As a result, her perspective on life changed, and she and her husband decided to make a shift which led to them settling in Canada in 2020.
Joanna Heyse, Functional Medicine Practitioner
Joanna started her health training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, specializing in gut health. There, she learned about the importance of primary and secondary foods in reaching optimal health.
Her training and experience in this field brought her to the realisation that the Western Medicine approach simply offers a band-aid strategy, that seeks to mask symptoms, without getting to the root of the issue.
As an eternal student she decided to jump on the Functional Medicine approach by joining the School of Applied Functional Medicine. This allowed her to further her knowledge and understand the interconnectedness of dis-ease in the body, getting to the root cause to create lasting and sustainable health.
